ATMs and credit cards – how to withdraw cash safely?

Card cloning is widespread in Brazil. Withdraw cash during the day on weekdays and inside bank branch lobbies, not on the street; daily limits are often between BRL 500 and 2,500 depending on the bank. Keep a second card separately and know your bank's card-blocking hotline.
