How much does the metro cost and how do I pay?
A ride costs R$ 7.90, the same for lines 1, 2 and 4 (unchanged since 12 April 2026). The easiest option is to tap your credit/debit card or phone at the turnstile. Alternatively, the Giro card costs R$ 11.90 at machines and ticket offices – R$ 4.00 of that is a refundable deposit, the rest is credit.
