How do I pay for buses, BRT and the VLT tram?

City buses, BRT and the VLT tram cost R$ 5.00 each. Cash is no longer accepted on city buses since 30 May 2026. You need the Jaé card (R$ 5 from machines in BRT, metro and VLT stations) or the Jaé app, which lets you pay by QR code. With a registered Jaé you can make up to three trips within three hours for the price of one.
