Uber or taxi in Rio?

Both work well. The German Foreign Office recommends taxis or ride-hailing services for getting around the city and taxis rather than public transport at night. Use only official or booked taxis. Tip: pay taxis in cash and check the amount on the card machine – manipulated card terminals are a known scam in Rio. Ride-hailing apps show the price before you book.
